StarburstsLiving in a dense urban landscape has its ups and downs. And they change season to season. The recent cold snap is enough to make us nostalgic for the stench of summer.

This week, hunkered down as the temperatures plummeted, it was easy to question the logic of creating 30-40 storey canyons that act as wind tunnels effectively channelling arctic blasts up, down and across the island.

Trying to find the positive in this, I turned to the light. The low angle of brilliant winter light bouncing around the reflective man-made environment creates reflections and sometimes patterns that surprise.

So with fingertips sacrificed to the cause,  here’s this week’s camera phone photo challenge (without filters, cropping or retouching): capture the bounce of light in the dark of winter.
