The Golden Hour—One Walk, Two Approaches
On Saturday evening we walked down to the Hudson River, along its banks to see what we could capture during the “Golden Hour” when the sun lies close to the horizon, its light more diffuse and much redder than during the day.
The aim was to photograph familiar scenes in the light. The pictures were taken either with a Ricoh GRD4 or the iPhone 5.
The challenge was: digital camera with edits and composition done manually “in camera” vs. the iPhone with the image brought into Instagram afterward, cropped square and a filter (or heightend contrast) used.
