Midday At The Oasis
Desert Dog lives in a camp far into the Moroccan desert. Tents circle a deep natural spring amidst a shady palm-fronded grove. Several families share the oasis which is a rare patch of green amidst endless sand and rocks. Desert Dog’s camp has several donkeys, goats, sheep and many chickens kept in thorn-fenced enclosures. Simple living at its finest.
When we met Desert Dog she was happy to escort us around, show us her home, and pose for a few photos. She won’t be applying for any guard dog jobs.
These are fantastic photos. Are you in Morocco at the moment? This is a real desert dog and very similar to one that my daughter owns in Oman.
I am in Liberia at the moment. The Moroccan photos were taken on an earlier trip. Desert dog and her ilk seem common throughout the desert world and its near neighbours. We saw similar dogs in Cyprus. Hope your daughter likes Oman – we hear that it is very nice.
Wow, beautiful shots!!! Desert dog has such a deep look in his eyes, I can almost read a million desert stories through them….
Thank you! Desert Dog certainly was an old soul and good companion.
