Only The Lonely

Labor Day weekend in the States is a last call for a summer getaway. In New York this creates a quiet eye of the storm between the end of the summer tourist season and the back to work, back to school, business-as-usual autumn.

This week Mr. DW is also away for work and I find myself alone in this empty city. I’m the lone sock in the dryer. A dryer that normally hold eight million socks.

Secretly (because I know you won’t tell Mr. DW), I love having the city to myself—every New Yorker does. Since our recent posts have been packed with texture, patterns, lines and curves, I thought I’d use the solitude and quiet of this week as the inspiration for this post.

So here are my images inspired by a lonely feeling and empty city. Now what would you suggest for a soundtrack?
