Rear View Mirror, 2014: iPhone v. Camera

 

curveIn 2014 our theme of iPhone versus Camera came to maturity. We were  delighted to receive so many constructive comments and to build a community of like-minded photographers, writers, artists and designers and pleased to receive “Freshly Pressed” for OFF THE HOOK. We have each chosen our five favorite images, five camera and five iPhone, for a 2014 Top Ten. We’ll kick it off through the lens of the camera.

Mr. DW’s favourite shots were taken with Ricoh GRD, Nikon D300, Pentax Spotmatic and Leica M9. The lenses ranged between 28mm and 50mm—wide to normal lenses seem to be the sweet spot for Mr. DW.

Tools of the trade.

Mrs. DW decided to add on to her trusty iPhone and delved a bit more into editing apps. She fell a little bit in love with Snapseed and then had to wrestle with not going overboard in post production.

We won’t include her favorite series (both taken in Serbia, INTO THE BIG WIDE OPEN and WEEKLY PHOTO CHALLENGE: WINDOW — thanks for asking), so without further ado, Mrs. DW’s five favorite iPhone shots :
